Astigarraga was offered a internship with IBM Systems Group. Her internship work at IBM gave her perspective in STEM and sparked her software engineering journey. Astigarraga is an Architect/Developer currently working in IBM Watson Research. She has designed and built one of the first Enterprise Blockchain Solution Implementations. Astigarraga is also an IBM Master Inventor with over 84 patents filed. She is passionate about mentoring youth for STEM K-12 outreach.
