* Fox successfully produced her first species of naturally colored cotton that could be spun on a machine. *She obtained Plant Variety Protection Certificates (the equivalent of patents for plants) and trademarked her cotton brand: FoxFibre. * Each color of cotton takes approximately ten years of cross-breeding before it can be sold on the market. * She originally cross-pollinated all her plants on her 40-acre farm by hand. * Her life-long goal is to protect and preserve the environment. * Some of the sustainable practices used on her farm include rotating wheat with cotton production in the field, integrating animals by having sheep graze her fields, and planting black-eyes peas next to the cotton and these practices are sinking carbon into the soil.
