Xia was known for pioneering research in computer science & technology in China. She made numerous contributions to high-speed computers in China; 1978, helped found Chinese Journal of computers & 1986 Journal of computer Science & Technology; 1956, taught Chinas 1st course in computer theory & wrote "Principles of the electronic computer" the 1st systemic computer science textbook in China; developed methodologies that could more accurately predict variations in frequency & amplitude within electronic systems; 1981, developed a high-speed processor array called 150AP.
