Awards: a cenotaph honoring her was erected in the Texas State Cemetery; the home built by her 5th husband, Joseph W. Hannig in 1869, was turned into a museum honoring all Alamo survivors in 2010

Achievements: She & her infant daughter, Angelina, were survivors of the Battle of the Alamo; Santa Anna gave her a written message for Sam Houston which she delivered on March 12, 1838 warning against further acts of war; she gave verbal accounts of what happened during the Battle throughout the remainder of her life
