She was the first woman in Germany to hold such a role in applied mathematics. Geiringer equations. With her equations, Geiringer became a co-developer of the slip-line theory; did research in statistics, probability genetics theory, & the mathematical theory of plasticity; did classified research for the National Defense Research Council during WWII
