Achievements: 1970 joined Ford Motor Company; she & her team designed the interior of the 1986 Ford Taurus that had the 1st ergonomic cabin out of concern for driver & passenger safety; the controls, dials for climate function, buttons with raised bumps, & a curved dashboard making it easier to reach were all ergonomic; 1987 promoted to Design Executive for all exterior & interior design at Ford of America making her the 1st female to reach this level at any automaker
